A Short History of the Carphone Warehouse
Carphone Warehouse carries a wide array of items for every individual. Whether your shopping for a new mobile phone, a new I-Pod, or a new TV, and whether you prefer Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung or a Blackberry, they carry it all. You can also find accessories such as batteries, chargers, all types of memory cards, and many different brands and styles of Bluetooth headsets and equipment. And no worries if there’s ever a problem, the Carphone Warehouse owns and operates the largest mobile equipment service department in Europe.
Carphone Warehouse, also known as The Phone House outside Ireland and the UK, is Europes largest mobile phone retailer and servicer. The company was Co-Founded in 1989 by Charles Dunstone and David Ross, to be joined by Guy Johnson in later years. The company was originally based on Marylebone Road in London. But within four years, it had 20 stores up and running well. It has now grown to have over seventeen hundred stores all across Europe. It is a 50% subsidary of American “Best Buy” , and has made many other profitable mergers. The Carphone Warehouse made a huge purchase in October of 2006, buying out AOL’s UK division, making them the second largest broadband provider, servicing over 2 million customers, as well as the largest LLU Operator in the UK.
